I appreciate it. About as much as I appreciate how modest your ballad is. Makes me sound normal, for once, instead of something I'm not.

As a normal person? Nothing too dramatic would be nice.

I'm not a wordsmith. I guess I'd be satisfied with people just saying I'm a tiefling who wants better for my people and one day hope to see a world where we're more accepted. My wants are simple.

you might be surprised what someone who ain't a wordsmith can do when they put their mind to it. but for now, i guess you can leave the words to me.

I'm inclined to leave the words to anyone who isn't me, honestly. And it seems like I'm surrounded by wordsmiths. I could listen to all of them go on for hours, so I've just come to assume they're all masters of conversation.

it means you tend to come up with excuses rather than accept something, like a compliment.

That's. Not wholly untrue, I guess. I don't really know how to handle compliments. Easier to handle just about anything else, though. I don't dislike compliments. Just not good with them!

i don't know, seems like it worked to me. got a thank you without all that fanfare about how you think someone else has better hair or how you don't know a thing about doing anything but a braid

so when i say i think you know enough words that you could come up with something nice to say about yourself, you say...

I say this is ridiculous and you're making a big thing out of nothing. Hasn't it ever occurred to you that perhaps I just don't want to talk about myself? I've lived with myself. I'm much more fascinated in you or any of the others. I don't need to discuss myself because I already know who and what I am.
