observations and little tells
one of those instinct things with me, but definitely something i can teach you
if it helps your guilt tell yourself this: if you can catch someone acting like that, you've got the chance to talk them into being more reasonable
which will help everyone else who needs to get things

That's true. I'm pretty good at talking to people. Sort of. Sometimes I can persuade them towards the morally right choice.

Guess there's not much harm if the morally right choice just so happens to benefit us, too. We probably need every bit of coin in our coffers that we can get. Just in case something unexpected arises.

or if someone falls in deepest love with something and starts making that expression where they're trying to hint that they'd like permission to get it

I don't think any of us look at things with that kind of look. Or I just haven't noticed. I'm not sure I'd even know what that looks like, honestly.

[Because for some reason, she lives in her very oblivious world where she just doesn't think about things like that. But that isn't the point and she understands it.]

Regardless, you're right. It shouldn't just be for emergency. If someone wants something, who's to stop them from a little luxury. Gods know we've earned that in the face of what we come up against.

Not items, no. Maybe ideas, but you can't really purchase those kinds of things.

Well. You know, things like the safety of the group. Of course, I suppose items can help with this, but the feeling is a little more intense than something to be satisfied by swords or armours or spell scrolls.

[Nepione is an emotional sap. That's what we're really learning here.]

[a break before an actual response comes through. she is a sap, and it makes Fever need to come up with a better response than how are you a real person sometimes.]

though i'll be the first to say part of that is your doing

i know i sleep easier with the fact that if something does happen, we've got options

It's not that I think any of us are incapable. [Maybe herself from time to time, but questioning one's self and worth and contributions is probably very... 'human' to do.] I would just rest easier if sometimes we didn't have to do the things we do in order to get to where we need to be. I wish there was another way. Something that wouldn't put ourselves in the way of adversity. Good fortune doesn't last forever, and I think we're here now as a combination of capacity and luck.
