observations and little tells one of those instinct things with me, but definitely something i can teach you if it helps your guilt tell yourself this: if you can catch someone acting like that, you've got the chance to talk them into being more reasonable which will help everyone else who needs to get things
[bullying unfair merchants, but for good reasons! helping them mend their way and all. not that it's why Fever does it, but whatever works, right.]
That's true. I'm pretty good at talking to people. Sort of. Sometimes I can persuade them towards the morally right choice.
[Not always, but sometimes!]
Guess there's not much harm if the morally right choice just so happens to benefit us, too. We probably need every bit of coin in our coffers that we can get. Just in case something unexpected arises.
or if someone falls in deepest love with something and starts making that expression where they're trying to hint that they'd like permission to get it
[that very specific look and the longing little touches. don't they know it.]
it's nice to have the flexibility to maybe say yes
I don't think any of us look at things with that kind of look. Or I just haven't noticed. I'm not sure I'd even know what that looks like, honestly.
[Because for some reason, she lives in her very oblivious world where she just doesn't think about things like that. But that isn't the point and she understands it.]
Regardless, you're right. It shouldn't just be for emergency. If someone wants something, who's to stop them from a little luxury. Gods know we've earned that in the face of what we come up against.
[not shown through text, how Fever just lets out a dramatic sigh, and makes a resolution that she's going to watch very closely the next time they go out and see if she can't convince the cleric to treat herself.]
Well. You know, things like the safety of the group. Of course, I suppose items can help with this, but the feeling is a little more intense than something to be satisfied by swords or armours or spell scrolls.
[Nepione is an emotional sap. That's what we're really learning here.]
[a break before an actual response comes through. she is a sap, and it makes Fever need to come up with a better response than how are you a real person sometimes.]
we do all right when it comes to that, don't we? at the least, we're all still here in one piece though i'll be the first to say part of that is your doing
[local half-elf will throw herself in the thick of fighting.]
as long as we have each other's backs, we can be safe i know i sleep easier with the fact that if something does happen, we've got options
It's not that I think any of us are incapable. [Maybe herself from time to time, but questioning one's self and worth and contributions is probably very... 'human' to do.] I would just rest easier if sometimes we didn't have to do the things we do in order to get to where we need to be. I wish there was another way. Something that wouldn't put ourselves in the way of adversity. Good fortune doesn't last forever, and I think we're here now as a combination of capacity and luck.
it won't be forever we know as long as we can hold out just long enough to fix our collective problem and in the end we can move on and live safer peaceful lives you don't have to make saving the world a habit

have you never seen some object you fantasized about having really badly
could be anything at all
[no one's that selfless...right?]

[That selfless? Not at all. All of her selfishness is simply not in material form.]

I don't do that.
